This is a silly Polaroid photo of Bill with a ridiculous fake mustache and a very animated and funny look on his face. The caption reads: Range. I’ve got it. French Bistro Night
A polaroid photo of Bill chest deep in a lagoon. Next to him is a dolphin giving him a kiss on the cheek.
An old Polaroid photo of our narrator, Bill Lord, standing next to his sister in front of a house. Bill has shoulder length hair. His sister is wearing a flowery maxi-dress. The caption reads: Before the booth. East Lansing, MI 1975

FROM THE BOOTH

Narrators tell stories.
This one is mine.

Presiding over all of this is an antique Pinocchio from Venice, a constant reminder that the best storytelling is built on honoring an author's truth, told by authentic characters.

This is a photo of the audiobook recording booth. It’s filled with equipment. There is a microphone suspended from above, speakers for monitoring, a production console on the desk, keyboard and mouse, and computer monitor with the Nothing Rhymes with Orange logo on it. Also on the desk is an antique Pinocchio with a miniature hand-blown glass guitar placed in his hands. Pinocchio is sitting in a rocking chair.+

The soul of this operation? The Audio-Technica AT4047/SV, a microphone so silky it practically convinces your vowels to volunteer. Paired with the Rodecaster Pro II's Revolution™ preamps, APHEX® audio processing, and 32-bit float recording, this unconventional chain for audiobook production is designed with one thing in mind: the listener. While most studios chase warmth through vintage iron, we chase transparency, and the difference is in each word you hear.

Every syllable is monitored through KRK ROKIT RP5 G4 bi-amped monitors, because missing it in the room means chasing it in post. And denial doesn't master well.

All of this lives inside a 4' x 6' WhisperRoom lined with ATS acoustic panels including a 4-foot bass trap, Auralex LENRDs, and additional foam treatment positioned with enough care to make an acoustician nod slowly in approval. And with Studio One Professional at the heart of the workflow, the sessions run as smooth as Coltrane in an orange velvet smoking jacket.
